Would it be possible to see the American flag on the moon as a tiny tiny dot through an amateur telescope? So, I know that one of the most frequently asked questions to hobby astronomers is whether you can see the American flag, or other objects left behind on the moon expedition, through a telescope. And the answer is usually that you would have to build a 100 meter wide telescope placed outside the Earths atmosphere to even get close to seeing it, because a telescope on earth can only see areas which are a couple kilometers wide at best.
However, wouldn't it be possible to see the American flag or bigger objects left behind as a tiny - and I mean TINY dot - on a night with exceptional good seeing conditions in that kilometer wide area? |
| No, it is not possible. The issue is resolution. It is like reading the text on this page using a computer screen with 10 pixels. You wouldn't even see the text, much less the individual letters. |
Can an amateur Telescope see Pluto? Can it been seen as a tiny pinprick of light from a 12" reflector telescope for example? |
| Yes. Contrary to the above posts, Pluto, at it's brightest, is WELL within the grasp of a 12'' reflector, and can be seen in something as small as 8inch (I've spotted it in my 8'' dob, though it is indeed as you said, just a little pinprick of light). Pluto is just over 14th magnitude, meaning it is most certainly within the reach of a decent sized amateur telescope. I used the linked article to find it when it crossed Barnard 92 this summer. |
Exercise tips for an amateur male model? Yeah i wanna get into modeling, but as of now I'm a tiny bit out of shape... I need an exercise schedule so I can look the part. :D
Thanks for the help |
Was trying to find an answer I had given to someone like you.
But I'll retype it all.
First of all, you'll want to do cardio to get into shape. Start out 1 minute running one minute walking, then a week later go 2:1, 3:1,4:1. Once you run 5 minutes straight, add one sprinting day a week. Do 10x100 or 6X400, alternating weeks. This will tone your legs without too much effort.
As for workout plans, I do this:
Abs:
1:30 plank (start with however long you can)
50 bicycle crunches
45 side crunches each side
40 leg lifts
20 v-ups
ONCE EVERY OTHER DAY. Do them slow & controlled
Arms & shoulders - Bench 3 sets of 6 or 3 sets of 10.
sets of 6 for bulking and 10 for endurance
Do them at a comfortable amount
Don't ever do them 2 days in a row
Lats - Good mornings, deadlift, lat bar, pull-ups
Good mornings and deadlifts do 3 sets of 8
Never on consecutive days.
Lat bar do 1 set of like 40
Legs/core - Running/squats
For squats you mainly want to bulk
Do 3 sets of 6 at whatever.
It may take some time to get toned, but trust me, it's worth it.
Just to prove I'm not talking bs, I'll post a pic of me.

How does one repair extremely small circuitry? In today's world it seems that if something like an ipod or phone breaks your only option is to pay for a replacement. It's not like the days when any amateur with a soldering gun could try to fix something themselves. So i was just wondering how people go about fixing and modifying extremely small circuitry that's just too tiny to work on by hand. |
| many times we replace the circuit board, but if we need to change a part we use magnifiers and a steady hand |
What to do with all those extra rocks in my yard? Hey, I'm an amateur landscaper and I'm doing some work on my yard. I have a MASSIVE amount of rocks in my backyard, and I was just wondering if there was a way I could recycle them, so to speak. Perhaps use them for something like a wall maybe or whatever, they're all shapes and sizes, some very tiny some are huge. So is there anything I can do with them or do you guys think I should just toss them? |
| WOW! A gold mine...Depending on the your property, you could use them to build a retaining wall, a border for existing gardens, a fireplace, pond surrounding...the list is endless. You might even want to sell them ny the pound, ton to fund your plans...Good Luck! |
I want to start an amateur dog walking business over the summer, but I don't know how to get started? Im turning 14 this year, and I want to do something productive this summer, instead of sit on my butt everyday and play video games. Dog walking is the perfect job.
I have a dog myself, and hes very taken care of. The thing is, when i looked online to find out about this job, somewhere it said i have to have a license and insurance . Does an amateur dog walker really need this?
To any walkers out there, can you give me some tips and advice on how to get started?
What's a good way to advertise?
I live in an apartment in a urban area, so there arent any trails or anything to walk on besides the side walk, which is pretty busy with pedestrians, but there are A LOT of dogs in my apartment, most of them owned by elderly people.
There are a few parking lots, tiny parks, nearby. And theres the school soccer field, but I'm not sure I can walk dogs there.
How much should i charge? Per hour,or per session?
What do I do and what happens if a dog gets hurt?
Any extra info i should know before i get started?
by the way, Im posting this now so i can be prepared ! lol. |
| Suppose if a dog bit you or someone else? Who's responsible? Who will clean up after the dog? What if the dog gets injured? |
What is the worst wrestling movie of all time? For me it would have to be No Holds Barred, you've got Tiny Lister who could barely act and Hogan who couldn't act his way out of a wet paper bag if his daughter's career was being threatened by someone with actual talent.
So what do you guys consider the worst wrestling movie of all time (Pro or amateur)? |
No Holds Barred, by far.
Even worse though is what the movie Ready To Rumble did to WCW Nitro. WCW made David Arquette the World Heavyweight Champ, and even had a "death defying" triple cage match. It REALLY sucked. |
☺☼☺ Can you answer each set of GOLF clues with a two word rhyming answer? Ex: obese feline = fat cat
1. tiny / peg used in golf
2. he has raised the bar in golf / articles that are sold
3. one of the greatest golfers who always kept the status of amateur / skeletal things |
1. wee / tee
2. woods / goods
3. (Bobby) Jones / bones |
What is a good cheap RC plane or helicopter? I am looking to buy a nice remote control helicopter or plane that would be able to carry a tiny keychain type video recorder so i can make some very amateur and cheap first-person recordings for fun :)
What is a cheap RC aircraft or helicopter that would be able to support a camera and wouldnt crash on the first run... nothing too fancy but just something plain that works.
Thanks :) |
I would recommend a 400 or 450-size electric coaxial helicopter. These are the easiest to fly and the smallest size that can comfortably accommodate a video recorder. Make sure your video recorder weighs no more than 40 grams (1.4 ounces).
The heavier the heli, the more likely it can carry the camera. A helicopter with a flying weight under 400g may cause you problems.
When you mount the camera, try to mount it as close to the helicopter's center of gravity as possible. Too low is better than too high. Too far forward is better than too far backward. You can remove or cut away the canopy if you wish. On the bottom, between the sguys and aimed slightly down, is a good spot. |
